张炎的《山中白云词》在词学理论史上具有重要影响和意义。张炎的《词源》位于宋代三大词话之首,与《山中白云词》关系密切。《词源》是张炎创作经验的总结,《山中白云词》是张炎对自己词学理论的践行。《词源》提出的“清空”“质实”“骚雅”等词学范畴,结合《山中白云词》来理解更加接近张炎本意;张炎在创作上传白石衣钵,《山中白云词》对词学史第三派姜张词派的形成和巩固意义重大;《山中白云词》是浙西词派用于彰显本派词学追求的重要文献;浙派词人“近姜夔者少,而近张炎者多”,他们在创作中学习《山中白云词》,取得了巨大的成就;常州词派张惠言、周熙载、陈廷焯等人贬抑浙派而不废玉田,给予《山中白云词》较高的评价,盖因词中所蕴含的家国之思也是寄托所在,情感沉郁而具有较高的艺术水平。
Abstract:Zhang Yan's Shanzhong Baiyun Ci holds significant influence and importance in the history of ci theory criticism. Zhang Yan's theoretical work Ciyuan(the Origin of Ci), ranks first among the three major ci poems of the Song Dynasty, maintains a close relationship with Shanzhong Baiyun Ci. Ciyuan serves as a summation of Zhang Yan's creative experiences, while Shanzhong Baiyun Ci represents the practical implementation of his theoretical framework. Key theoretical concepts proposed in Ciyuan-such as “clarity and ethereality”(qingkong), “substance and solidity”(zhishi), and “elegant refinement”(saoya), can be more accurately understood through textual analysis of Shanzhong Baiyun Ci, thereby approaching the author's original intentions. As a creative successor to Jiang Kui's poetic legacy, Shanzhong Baiyun Ci played a crucial role in the formation and consolidation of the Jiang-Zhang School, the third major school in ci poetry history. Shanzhong Baiyun Ci is a crucial textual foundation for the Zhexi Ci School to manifest their poetic ideals. While few poets of Zhexi Ci School closely followed Jiang Kui's style and many emulated Zhang Yan's approach, who had achieved remarkable artistic accomplishments through the learning of Shanzhong Baiyun Ci in their creation. Notably, despite the Changzhou Ci School critics like Zhang Huiyan, Zhou Xizai, and Chen Tingzhuo's general disparagement of the Zhexi Ci School, they nevertheless accorded high evaluation to Shanzhong Baiyun Ci. This recognition may stem from the collection's profound expressions of national sentiment, its skillful use of symbolic(emotional investment in imagery), and its exceptional artistic quality characterized by deep emotional resonance.
